Developmental editing is a deep dive into the key features of your manuscript in its early stages. This service will take your story to the next level, highlighting strengths and weaknesses and improving the readability, clarity, and organization of your work.

Service Deliverables​

A marked-up copy of your manuscript incorporating editing suggestions utilizing Microsoft Word's "track changes".

An editorial letter (10 to 15 pages) filled with actionable feedback on craft topics like plot continuity and structure, point of view, character and scene development, depth and interiority, mood and tone, pacing, dialogue, worldbuilding, narrative style, and writing quality. Examples will be drawn from your manuscript. Additional resources (e.g., articles, books, etc.) to improve understanding of craft topics will be included.​

One post-edit phone call (1 hour) to discuss feedback and next steps, and unlimited email communication.

$0.025 per word (or $25 per thousand words).​

Returning clients receive a 20% discount on all full-length novel (40k+ words) editing services.

Turnaround​
